determining your child's caries risk
There are many factors that help in identifying individuals with a higher than normal caries risk. Caries Risk Assessment (CRA) involves a detailed medical and dental history of the child as well as siblings and parents, along with enquiries about dietary habits, oral-hygiene habits and individual fluoride usage etc. and will usually give good evidence. Furthermore, the saliva will be examined for its quality, condition and composition. The occlusal surface of the teeth, taking into consideration the deepness of the occlusal grooves, eventual crowding and the conditions of existing restorations also play a role in determining caries risk.
Our aim is to determine the caries-risk of your children and care for them with treatment tailored to their special needs.
